Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was on MSNBC’s Hardball on Friday and like the old McCarthy period-- she is calling for investigations into the “anti-American views” of members of Congress and Barack Obama. Nice.
Her opponent in the 2008 election, Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg, (yes that really is his name) raised $640,000 since Bachmann’s wingnutty comments.
Today this wingnut--Bachmann is trying to undo what she done did. Bachmann has denied she ever called Barack Obama’s views “anti-American”:
TODAY'S QUOTE;
HOST: You do feel his views are anti-American?
BACHMANN: I feel his views are concerning. I’m calling on the media to investigate them. I’m not saying that his views are anti-American. That was a misreading of what I said. And so I don’t believe that’s my position. I’m calling on the media to take a look at what his views are.
Sounds good right? Except we have her on tape on Friday saying this;
CHRIS MATTHEWS: So you believe that Barack Obama may have anti-American views?
BACHMANN: Absolutely. I’m very concerned he may have anti-American views.
No leg to stand on. period. Get ready for the Bachmann Blacklists
Put that outrage to good use!
