The mood in DC. and now on our journey home is one of optimism. The world is definitely having a bit of an Obama love affair. But I think that it is not blind optimism. It is real hope, and a compelling desire for change.
We are proud that we chose this guy. We are proud that we, as Americans made this election and this historic moment possible. We are confident that for the first time in a DECADE (since we all know that the last two years of Clinton were all scandal all the time thanks to the muckrakers) we have someone in the White House who is truly committed to the American people and to the office for which he just spoke his sacred oath (twice!).
It is a big deal.
This lady, (pic above) was our waitress at the restaurant we ate at every morning in DC. "the Diner" in Morgan Adams. She also had red white and blue painted fingernails. She was so happy to see everyone come to her city to bear witness. She was so happy to be a part of it. It showed on her face and in her very person. It was like that everywhere.
It is a new era.
