"hello, hello... is this thing on? Hey! Where is everybody..."In his, column this week in the NYT William Kristol goes beyond even his usual bull shit lunacy to extol the virtues of the conservative era. He actually praises all things conservative and acts as if they lost due to circumstances beyond their control... sigh... and oh gee wiz, it is not because they suck and their ideas have put America in the crapper... oh no...
Since Ronald Reagan’s election in 1980, conservatives of various sorts, and conservatisms of various stripes, have generally been in the ascendancy. And a good thing, too! Conservatives have been right more often than not — and more often than liberals — about most of the important issues of the day: about Communism and jihadism, crime and welfare, education and the family. Conservative policies have on the whole worked — insofar as any set of policies can be said to “work” in the real world. Conservatives of the Reagan-Bush-Gingrich-Bush years have a fair amount to be proud of.
How is it that people like this get paid to write?
After the above sickening intro, Billy-boy goes on to weave the conservative fantasy that Obama might not be too bad as he is really a black Regan. So everything just might be ok. As long as he really doesn't turn out to be a weak librul...
The only good thing in the whole column was the last line. A line which was not penned by Bill himself, one presumes... but a line which will inspire a champagne toast over dinner later this week with some of my DFH friends...
"This is William Kristol’s last column."

UPDATE;
Looks like he was indeed fired...
The New York Times’ decision not to renew Bill Kristol’s opinion column was because of the conservative writer’s sloppiness and uneven quality, according to a reliable source with first-hand knowledge of the decision. Today, the Times features a signature Kristol piece, discussing the heroic role of conservatism in modern American history and contrasting this with the fecklessness of American liberals. But only the last line is newsworthy: “This is William Kristol’s last column.”
Sadly though, there is already a rumor that he is being picked up by the Washington Post.
